Pastor Robin has been serving Lake Winola and Falls UMCs since July 2021. She is a proud Buckeye (and Ohio State football fan), although she has lived all over the world before deciding to settle down with her husband, John Sankey, in NE Pennsylvania.

She has degrees from Otterbein University (Double BAs in Political Science and History), New Mexico State University (MA in International Relations) and a PhD from Kent State University (Political Science). Robin is also a student at Wesley Theological Seminary, in Washington, D.C. Prior to becoming a local pastor, Robin worked in Washington, D.C. for many years at Sojourners magazine, The Faith & Politics Institute and the National Council of Churches.

A life-long United Methodist, she grew up singing in the choir and attending UMYF. She has worshiped in Methodist Churches around the world and finds that the moment that she walks into any one of them–it feels like home. Pastor Robin and John have 5 children and 7 grandchildren in their blended family – who live all the way from Ohio, Maryland and Virginia to Sweden. Lynne is a lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania. A graduate of Abington Heights High School, she attended Penn State University and earned a BA in Journalism.

She and her husband David moved to Falls shortly after marrying in 1983. They joined  Lake Winola UMC so their two daughters, Karen and Amy, could take advantage of the youth programs there.

Lynne spent the first 20 years of her professional career in the banking industry and retired from PPL Electric Utilities after 20 years of service there. While at PPL, Lynne went back to school and received her MBA from Marywood University in 2016. The day after retiring from PPL, Lynne started her new job as secretary of the Lake Winola UMC.

EVERETT KILGO – Minister of Music

Everett taught himself how to play the piano as a child when he discovered an old saloon-style upright piano hidden under quilts in his father’s workshop. Growing up in church, he was mesmerized by the things an organ could do and worked for many years to learn everything about it.

As a member of the Cathedral of Allen AME Church in Queens, NY, he always sat in view of or just below the organ to pay close attention and “borrow” his expertise of the Minister of Music before gaining his own church musical experience as the Director of Music and the Associate Pastor at the Newman Memorial UMC in Brooklyn, NY. Bi-vocational, Everett serves as administrator and trainer for student pre-apprentices seeking a career in the construction industry and has been an adjunct lecturer at the New York Theological Seminary, where he earned his graduate and post-graduate degrees, mentoring new ministry candidates.

Everett enjoys live concerts, restaurant-hopping, motorcycling and following his beloved New York Knickerbockers in his spare time.

Brien McChesney – Youth Director

Brien McChesney is the Director of Youth Ministries at Lake Winola United Methodist Church. Brien was born in Florida, but grew up in Central Pennsylvania (Bellefonte). Growing up Brien loved to be a part of youth groups, scouting and wrestling. Brien is an Eagle Scout of Troop 32 in State College. He graduated from Marywood University in May of 2021 with a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies.

He feels called to ordination in the United Methodist Church but first wants to spend some time getting hands on experience loving and serving others before going to seminary. Brien loves meeting new people, playing board games, tinkering with legos, learning new things and spending time with his wonderful wife, Liz.

They love creating a safe space for the youth to know that they are loved and that they belong. They also enjoy going on hikes, working out at Crunch Fitness and playing Mario Bros together. The best way to reach Brien is to email him at
