Serve with Us

Our mission is to inspirationally serve one another,

our church and our community.

That is the starting point for our church, drawn from Matthew 22: 37-40.

When Jesus is asked which is the greatest commandment in the Law, he replied: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”

The members of our church serve the community  in many different ways:

Our Food Pantry offers groceries and produce on the first and third Mondays of the month, from 2:30 to 6 pm.

Our Clothing Room is open the first and third Mondays of the month from 2 to 5 p.m. and the second and fourth Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon. All are invited to check out our selection and fill a bag for only $2.

The Ugly Quilts group meets Wednesday mornings to piece together fabric to make sleeping bags for the homeless.  No sewing skills needed!

Our Missions Group builds health and wellness kits for groups in need or in crisis in the area and across the globe.

In the fall, we distribute backpacks, filled with supplies to local schoolchildren.

And we are always seeking to add to this list. To get involved with these missions, contact the church office at 570-378-2806 or Office@LakeWinolaUMC.org.

Our Mission Moment - CHOP

“The love of Christ is on full display at Lake Winola United Methodist Church. Through our spirited worship and joyful singing, woven into our connections through youth and mission’s group, we strive to bring the kingdom of God and the love of  God, Jesus and the movement of the Holy Spirit to all we encounter. We hope you will discover it for yourself.”
